Parking: free parking lots – There is parking reasonably close to the playground but the parking lots can get quite busy.
Washroom: This park has a public washroom a short walk from the playground.

Nicky’s Review (10 years old): “I liked all the monkey bars and the spinner with the four seats that you could spin.”
Robbie’s Review (7 years old): “I really liked the [4 seater] spinner because you could spin it so much.”

Age Range:   2-12 years
Ground cover: pour-in-place recycled tire and infinity turf (artificial grass)

Features: climber with 4-level ramp, roller slide, musical panels, slides, overhead features; 4 person spinner; ground level musical features; shaded reclined seat; 4 swings (one tandem accessible swing, one tandem baby swing); seated spinner with back support.

Surrounding park area: Located near the entrance of Sandy Beach Park. The park features bookable picnic sites, firepits and BBQ stands, pathways, a second playground, washroom (seasonal), water fountains (seasonal) and river access.

Accessibility: This playground was designed with inclusivity in mind. The ramp system allows access to the majority of the central climber with room to turn around and activities at each level. There are auditory and tactile features as well as a roller slide and lots of options for spinning and swinging.

One of the swings, the seat spinner and the 4 person spinner all have back support. There is also a roller slide and ground level musical features.

Shade: There are some large mature trees near the playground and some shade from the playground itself.
Seating: There are a couple picnic tables and a couple Adirondack chairs by the playground. There are more picnic tables further away in the park as well.

Overall assessment:

This new playgrounds adds to what was already a really nice park. The musical features at this playground are really great and can be found both on the climber and at ground level. The setting has a really nice feel with lots of trees to look at. My kids particularly enjoyed the 4 person spinner where you spin the disc in the centre to turn it around.

There is not a ton of challenging climbing equipment compared to some other new playgrounds but the throwing rocks in the river wading area down the path will be a big hit.

There is also another smaller playground closer to the river.

This is a wonderful park to spend the day but it can get pretty busy. Especially on a nice weekend day, you may want to plan to get there early. It is connected to a pathway so you could also bike in.
