Since I last wrote about this topic a new indoor play place opened up near Chinook Centre – Krazy Monkey Indoor Playground. And four places closed – Fun N More, Play A Latte, Hop, Sip and Jump and Super Duper Playground. More than any other topic I cover, the comments on indoor play places can…
200 Barclay Parade SW (Downtown) – Inside the food court
This indoor play space is pretty unusual. It was developed through a partnership with the Emmanual Foundation (who installs recycled playgrounds to places in the world where children would otherwise not have access) with the help of GPI Outdoor Designs Inc and CDC Recreation Inc. It’s basically an outdoor playground moved inside.
9900 Venture Ave SE (It is located outside of the city)
Multi-level indoor playground with twisty tube slide, hanging ‘punching bags’ and a bumper; Lazer tag; Climbing wall; Redemption Games.

Fairview – 510 77th Ave SE
I had heard that the new Calgary Farmers’ Market location had a play area, but didn’t expect it to be anything like this. Rather than the collection of panels I had thought it would be, it is like a smaller version of an indoor play centre.
2525 – 36th Street NE – in the centre of the mall by The Shoe Warehouse
This play area has recently been reopened in a new location in the center of the mall. The play space is smaller, but it’s still a good size play area with excellent seating and visibility.
n an attempt to learn from my experience at the McDonald’s play place where Gordie was too little for a really good review, I asked my friend who has a almost 4 year old and a 2 and 1/2 year old to accompany us.
Huntington Hills – 6820 – 4th St NW
This was the first time I had ever taken Gordie to a McDonald’s playplace. Although we do go to McDonalds, we tend to eat on the go.
