Parking: Lot #9, #10, #11 and #16 are the closest paid, on-campus options located near the North entrance. Lot 10 is the largest lot and likely to be the cheapest but it will require a bit of a walk to the arena.
Amenities
Nearby Amenities: The rink is located at the University of Calgary campus (services include: convenience store, food court). The campus is adjacent to the C-train line but it is a significant walk to the Oval from the station.
Also at this location: Skate shop (includes sharpening, skate rentals and helmet rentals. Running track. Olympic Oval speed skating track, smaller ice surface used for speed skating and figure skating.
Concession: limited. More options are available at the University (Macewan Hall) but they are not conveniently located to the arena.
Drop-in Activities: The Olympic Oval hosts public skating times on it’s long track speed skating oval and public running on the adjacent indoor track.
Seating
Seating: The arena has flexible seating that can open out to increase as needed. Typically the seating along the length of the arena will not be open as it interferes with the speed skating track.
Dressing rooms:
Good to Know
- to get to the arena you need to go underneath the speed skating track.
- The arena is a longer walk than usual from the dressing rooms.
