Location map
Community: Beddington – If you are driving, I would suggest 28 Bernard Road. Walk into the park and it is on your left. It is not actually by a road. But there are a number of access points by foot or in the car (see map above).
Parking: Free street parking in the neighborhood
Gordie’s Review (2 years old): What did you like best? “The swings!”
Age Range: 2-12 although in general it is geared towards school aged kids
Ground Cover: pea gravel
Features: large climber with bridge, 3 slides, climbing wall; seater bouncer, bowl spinner, standing spinner, running log, 4 swings (1 baby).
Surrounding Park Area: This playground is inside a dog park, but dogs are not allowed inside the playground itself.
Shade: some shade is provided by the playground equipment itself
Seating: 2 benches
Accessibility: None. There is no path to the playground. You have to either walk through the grass and around the corner, along a long bike path and across some grass or take a short walk down a hill.
Overall assessment: One of the notable features of this playground is that there are no roads right next to it. The closest one is up a small but not inconsequential hill and is a quiet cul de sac. It is also worth mentioning that it is inside a large dog park. While we were there (around 10 on a week day morning) we only saw 1 dog, but it may be busier during other time periods.
The playground itself has some nice features though and Gordie was really impressed that it was blue and had moons and stars on the canopy. Aside from the swings, Gordie also really enjoyed the spinners and running across the bridge.
