Parking: free street parking

Nicky’s Review (12 years old): “I liked the [space climber] part where there was so much to do and so many different ways you could get around”
Robbie’s Review (9 years old): “The space half is really fun but i am not a fan of the earth [other side] because there is not enough to do.”

Age Range: 2-12 years
Ground cover: playground wood chips

Features: Large ‘space themed’ climber, hot air balloon themed preschool playground, 4 swings (baby swing and tandem swing),

Surrounding park area: green space and pathway

Acessibility/Inclusivity: minimal. Playground wood chips are considered to be more accessible than other loose materials but can still be challenging to many people. There is a tandem swing which could be used by someone who benefits from a little back support.

Shade: there are trees in the surrounding park area that provide some shade
Seating: a couple of picnic tables and some interesting pink and grey cube seating

Overall Assessment:

This playground is obviously popular and the hot air balloon in the preschool area makes it feel extra special. The space climber has been popping up at more playgrounds and is always a hit with my kids.

The entry to the park has a little plaque that notes that the park was developed on the former Isbister Estate and some of the elements in the park were repurposed from their family home and land. While you are visiting, try to see if you can spot them!
