Gordie’s Review (2 years old): the firetruck!
Age Range: 2-5.
Ground Cover: pea gravel

Features:  preschool climber with 2 slides, scavenger hunt and ‘telephone’; tunnel climbing wall; musical panels; fire truck climber; wobbly bench (currently stuck with pea gravel); .
Surrounding Park Area: Situated between the community centre and the street. The play area is completely fenced with latched gates. There is a nice park area to the North of the community centre.

Shade: great in the evenings but may be more limited earlier in the day.
Accessibility: None.
Seating: a number of benches and picnic tables. 2 of the picnic tables have checkerboards painted on them.

Overall assessment: This playground is used by the daycare at the community centre during the day Monday – Friday. There is a few items that I’m assuming belong to the daycare in the play area and behind some benches there are some items that belong to the daycare that are not for use by the public.

The playground itself is brand new and great for preschoolers. Gordie loved the fire truck which has two steering wheels and 4 spinning bells. The climber also has two steering wheels and both of the slides could be used by two kids at the same time making it great for little kids who ‘play together’ by playing beside each other.

The musical panels look really good and are great choices because they are hard to damage with general wear and tear. The tunnel climbing wall is good for letting young kids try the kinds of climbing that the big kids can do but at a much safer height and easier angle. Toddlers and preschoolers will have a great time at this playground.
