Overall assessment: This playground is one of the coolest playgrounds I have seen lately. It has a very attractive prairie theme with a grain elevator, train and dump truck climbers.
Irricana is a small town located approximately 25 minutes East of Airdrie. If you’re looking to go on a small travel adventure, this playground is definitely worth a trip.
The slide is taller than most and inside the grain elevator you can climb up and peek out the highest windows. Behind the playground you can see trains go by which kids usually love.
After reading your review we included this as part of a Sunday afternoon drive that also included a visit to the gopher museum in Torrington and Papa and Nana’s in DIdsbuy.
We LOVED this park. Our boys are 8 and 10 and still had to be PULLED away after over an hour.
The slide was the main attraction for them and I think they went down it at least 30-40 times.
It is a great little park and worth a visit if you are in the area.
This park was one of the many initiatives of the Irricana Lions Club. We are very lucky to have such a strong service group in our community. Improvements to the park are ongoing. I believe this year will see more landscaping and plans for an excercise path starting alongside the park are in the works.
Thanks for all your reviews on playgrounds! What a fantastic resource! We’ve already gone to a few that I read about here! And we’re going to take a trip to this one asap! 🙂 Thanks!
