There are many Remembrance Day Ceremonies in Calgary. Some popular locations include the Military Museums, the Field of Crosses along Memorial Drive, Fort Calgary, The Hangar Flight Museum and the Cenotaph in Central Memorial Park.
Central Memorial Park at the Cenotaph
The Calgary Highlanders will have a Military parade using 4th St SW between 12th and 13th Ave SW.

Military Museums
The Remembrance Day Ceremony at the Military Museums is well attended. Dress warmly and either arrive early or anticipate having to stand as there is limited seating.

Location: The Military Museums – 4520 Crowchild Trail SW
Cost: Admission to the museum is by donation following the service. Non-perishable food donation to the food bank are also being collected. Coffee and hot chocolate will also be available.
Fort Calgary
Fort Calgary is hosting a Remembrance Day Service facilitated by the RCMP Veteran’s Association of Calgary. The ceremony features bagpipes, readings and choral singers.

Cost: Free with non-perishable food donation to the Veterans Food Bank
The Hangar Flight Museum
The Hangar is hosting a outdoor Remembrance Day Ceremony – it is recommended that you dress warmly and arrive early to sercure a parking spot.
Time: 10:30-11:15am November 11, 2019
Location: The Hangar Flight Museum
Cost: Free. Admission to the museum following the ceremony is by donation.
The Field of Crosses
Along Memorial Drive from November 1st to November 12th, you can find The Field of Crosses. There are 3,000 white crosses each with a name, rank, regiment, date of death and age at death of a soldier killed in action from Southern Alberta. Seeing all the crosses is very moving. The also host a Remembrance Day Ceremony each year.

Other ideas for honoring Remembrance Day
Many of Calgary’s Remembrance Day Ceremonies are held outdoors which can be quite cold. They are also very somber events which can be difficult for young kids to sit through. If a Remembrance Day ceremony is not a great fit for your family this year, there are other ways of recognizing Remembrance Day.
