Age Range: under 6
Footwear: Shoes must be taken off at the door. It is recommended that kids wear bare feet or flip socks (grippy socks) but many kids wear regular socks.
Safety Features/Concerns: The Tot Spot is on the upper level and has a latched but not locked gate. Visibility of the play area is good. Children must be signed in at the door.
Play Area Features: bouncy castle, balance beam, inclines, round ‘fort’, soft barrel, mats, movable soft pieces, dome climber, tree house climber, mountain climber, tunnels, slides.
Additional Services: birthday parties, gymnastics classes, summer camps
Food Services: There is an eating area just outside the play area and a small cafe serving all day lunch and snacks.
Overall Assessment: The tot spot is a little different than your typical play place, with more gymnastic-y play equipment and a preference for bare feet for gripping rather than socks. It also gets more and less busy as the adjacent gymnastics classes start and end.
Just outside the play area is the Flip Cafe which is open to the public.
They have some small kid sized tables as well as seating for parents to watch the gymnastics classes.
The space is padded with soft gym equipment that kids can do toddler level gymnastics on like a low balance beam. There is no structure or instruction so kids are free to just run around the space.
The space is nice and open making it easy to keep track of your kids.
Sometimes it can get a little busy (like between classes) but there is usually still lots of room for the kids to move around.
My kids both had a really good time and are looking forward to going back again.
Across the hall (past the stairs) they have a little ‘Baby Spot for crawlers and cruisers that didn’t seem to be quite open yet.
Have you been to the Tot Spot at the Flip Factory? What did you think?
