Gordie’s Review (2 years old): What did you think of the playground? “It’s pretty”. What did you like best? “The bridge and the climber”.
Age Range: 2-10.

Ground Cover: recycled tire flooring on the majority of the playground, pea gravel under the swings, and a few of the climbers
Features:  pea gravel area – long flying fox, merry-go-round spinner, 4 swings, people climber; accessible area – large climber with low slide, twisty slide and rock wall,  standing spinner, a number of panels on the ground level, 2 baby swings.

Surrounding Park Area: tiered park area; soccer field
Shade: not too much inside the play area, but there are large mature trees in the surrounding park area.

Accessibility: The majority of the playground has accessible flooring. There are a number of panels that can be accessed from the ground level. and a ramp in the centre of the large climber provides access to the one level of the climber where a couple of panels can be accessed.
Seating: 2 covered picnic tables; a few benches

Overall assessment: [Gordie’s Daddy took him to a playground with a couple of his friends for some guy time] There’s a lot of variety. It’s a great playground for younger kids – Gordie had a lot of fun.  You could have a lot of kids here and not run out of space.

There were three entire groups while we there and we weren’t bumping into each other. It is a very friendly playground for a bunch of playground rookies to take a young kid.  There are two sections on the large climber. A young toddler or a cautious preschooler can play very safely on the preschool side and an older or more adventurous kid can play on the school-aged side.

Even on the school-aged section I didn’t feel like I needed to shadow him – there was nowhere where he could have gotten an uninterrupted 5 ft fall. The pea gravel area is designed for even older kids and didn’t interest Gordie at all.
