Canelo’s Ice Cream can be found in a little strip mall in Killarney. They have a brightly coloured picnic table outside and the inside is bright and cheery.
Their ice cream comes in single or double scoops as well as a $2 kids cone. Kids 2 and under eat free. They have lots of fun toppings to choose from too.
They have classic soft serve in chocolate, vanilla or a twist as well as vegan soft serve that comes in 24 different flavours. Both are gluten free.
My youngest got a kids chocolate soft serve cone with peach candy topping.
My oldest was more enthusiastic with the toppings so they gave him a bowl so he wouldn’t lose the toppings to gravity.
My husband and I shared the ice cream nachos. We had vanilla soft serve on the bottom topped with a scoop of tiger and a scoop of mint with chocolate drizzle and colourful waffle cone ‘chips’.
The ice cream tacos are their most impressive item. You can customize your own or choose from their signature creations. My daughter saw them on their website and was determined to get one.
Inside a waffle cone taco she got vanilla soft serve with scoops of cotton candy and strawberry ice cream topped with cookies, livewire candy and whipped cream. If you have a smaller appetite you may want to share this one!
We really enjoyed our visit to Canelo’s the kids were super impressed with the ice cream taco and my oldest was really pleased with the amount of vegan ice cream options.
