Gordie’s Review (5 years old) “I liked the big rope bridge.”
Nicky’s Review (2 years old) “Like rocks”
Age Range: 5 years -12 years
Ground Cover: pea gravel
Shade: Very little right now but it should improve as the young trees grow.
Features: Very tall climber with rope bridge and tall slide. 6 swings.
Surrounding Park Area: School fields.
Accessibility: None.
Seating: a few benches.
Overall assessment: This playground is unlike any other I have been in the city. Gordie at 5 was just old enough to enjoy the climber.
Nicky at 2 years old found it too difficult but she did enjoy climbing on the nearby rocks. I was talking to someone with kids a bit older than mine and their kids figure this is the best playground in the city.
Getting up to the top of the climber takes some skill and coordination and once you get up, you are up very high.
There is some beautiful landscaping by the playground and a small rock amphitheatre that both of my kids really liked walking and climbing around. A great playground to take a school-aged kid looking for a different kind of playground to challenge them.
