Sherwood Castle Playground and Sand Citadel

Playground set on a hill with a cool castle theme. Further up the hill is a sandstone citadel look out spot reachable by dirt path from the playground or bike path on the other side.

Gordie’s Review (11 years old): “Better for younger ages. Very good for pretend play. They really nailed the castle stuff.”
Nicky’s Review (9 years old): “I liked the little lookout with benches up the hill.”
Robbie’s Review (6 years old): “I liked the dinosaurs.”

Age Range: 2-12.  Probably best for kids 3-9.
Ground cover: pea gravel

Shade: nearby trees will provide some shade
Seating: a couple of benches and a picnic table nearby

Features: Castle themed climber with steps and slides. Dinosaur climbers.

Surrounding park area: the playground is set up onto a hill. Further up the hill there is a sandstone citadel with benches inside. This can be reached from a bike path on the other side of the hill or a dirt path from the playground.
Accessibility: none.

Overall assessment:

This playground isn’t the biggest, but between the fun theme and a nice hill side setting, it will be a hit for many kids. The addition of the sandstone citadel will make it a fun stop for kids who love to engage in imaginative play while at the playground.
