There are a number of things to do in Okotoks. Located 45 minutes south of Calgary’s City centre, and only 15 minutes from the most southern end of Calgary, Okotoks is a great location for a day trip.

4. Okotoks Erratic (Napi’s Rock, Big Rock)
Located West of Okotoks on Highway 7
Approximately 9 meters tall, this huge boulder sticks out of the relatively flat surrounding prairie. Originally located in the Jasper National Park area, this glacial erratic was left behind by melting glaciers. It is both an interesting geological landmark as well as a historical site of great spiritual significance to the Blackfoot peoples. It is a great place to stretch your legs and take a short walk. There is a pathway and interpretive signs. Although it is tempting, please do not climb on the rock.

Near the recreation centre you can find a spray park and skate park.
7. Saskatoon Farm

8. Sheep River
The Sheep River runs through the centre of Okotoks. The park near the Okotoks Lions Campground is a popular spot to access the river and do things like throw rocks.
