Tuxedo Corner Playground – Tuxedo Park Community Centre Playground

Location  map
Community: Tuxedo – 202 – 29 Ave NE.
Parking: There is free parking along 1st St and 29th Ave

Robbie’s Review (8 years old) – “It was good. There was a little area and a big area. It was cool. And the zipline was great!”
Nicky’s Review (11 years old) – “I like how they have a smaller play area and a bigger one. And I like that they added enough swings.”

Age Range: All ages. Some older kids may find there isn’t enough challenging equipment.
Ground Cover: pour-in-place recycled tire flooring

Features: Hexagonal preschool and school aged climbers. Swings (4 regular one tandem). Double zipline (one inclusive). Ground level merry-go-round, ground level features. 4 person bouncer.

Surrounding Park Area: This area has been converted into a storm pond and now has two sunken grassy areas with a pathway in between. Great pathway around the park for kids to practice on their bikes or balance bikes. There is a water fountain and water bottle filling station being installed but it was not complete during our visit.

Shade: A large portion of the playground area doesn’t have great shade and the picnic tables aren’t placed in a shady area. There are some large trees on the west side of the playground.

Seating: A few picnic tables and benches
Inclusiveness: Accessible flooring throughout. Accessible seat on one of the ziplines. Ground level merry-go-round and ground level features. 4 person bouncer has back support. Tandem swing has reclined back support.

Overall Review

This playground is brand new in 2023 and is a great new addition to the community. The playground has an eye catching, inviting look and is packed with fun equipment to explore.

Although the playground it replaced typically seemed quiet, this playground usually has multiple kids playing on it. (Even during our visit although it may be hard to tell from these photos!)

It has great features for kids of a wide variety of ages and abilities. With ground level features, accessible flooring and interesting climbing equipment, this playground is a definite winner.
