Gordie’s Review (2 years old): the bridges!
Age Range: 18 months -10 years
Ground Cover: pea gravel.
Features: school-aged climber with slides, and bridges; climbing wall area; 4 swings (2 saucer, 1 baby); toddler climber with ramp, bridges, double slide, working ‘telephone’ and bell musical panel; 4 seater bouncer; standing spinner and a digger.
Surrounding Park Area: The playground is very close to the community centre parking lot. The ramp on the preschool climber actually exits out into the parking lot. There is a grassy area behind the playground and a field to the north. There are two basketball hoops on the North edge of the parking lot.
Seating: 2 benches, 1 picnic table.
Accessibility: You can get quite close to the playground because of the parking lot. A wheelchair could get to the first level of the preschool climber and reach a few panels. The preschool climber would be good for kids with low mobility because of the ramp and stairs throughout the climber.
Shade: There are large mature trees on the west side of the playground and the playground itself provides some shade
Overall assessment: This is an excellent community playground and would be worth going a little bit further to get to. Gordie loved climbing up on to the school-age climber and then running back and forth along the catwalk bridges.
You’re not going to see a lot that you can’t find somewhere else, but there are a lot of different equipment that will appeal to kids of all ages.
