XO Ice Cream and Waffles has brought gourmet ice cream to Calgary’s South East neighborhood of Auburn Bay.
XO Ice Cream and Waffles serves up in house made hard ice cream as well as waffles (served with chocolate dipping sauce) and waffle sundaes. The ice cream comes in a bowl – kid sized, one scoop or two scoops or in a waffle cone for an extra charge.
They serve up 10 different ice cream flavours both traditional (mint chocolate chip, vanilla bean) and modern creations (salted caramel, earl grey) as well as 2 flavours of dairy-free sorbet.
You can also grab boxes to take home from the freezer at the front.
There is no seating inside but there are lots of benches in the plaza area outside.
I tried the waffle sundae with Cookies & Cream ice cream. It was amazing. Why have I not had ice cream and waffles together before?
My husband got a couple scoop of mint chocolate chip and hazelnut crunch. And my kids got kid scoops of mango sorbet.
XO ice cream is a great new addition to Calgary’s ice cream scene.
