Lincoln Park – Dallaire Ave & Peacekeeper Way SW
This is a really nice little playground in a quiet neighborhood. Gordie loved going up and down all the levels under the gazebo and walking across the bridge. The mountain climber was a little too challenging for him but it looks like a lot of fun.
Tuxedo – 202 – 29 Ave NE.
This is a much nicer playground than I had expected. I had seen it from Centre Stree many times, but because everything is painted blue, it is difficult to see how nice it really is.
Bridgeland – 9th St and Centre Ave NE.
Really nice community playground. Would definitely be worth a short trip. I wish there was a little bit more shade surrounding the playground but the young trees on the south side will provide this as they grow. This would be a good park to take kids of varying ages as there will be equipment to occupy all of them.
7305 24 St. S.W. The first playground from the west entrance.
I love the concept for this playground, it was really interesting seeing all the different types of safe flooring. Unfortunately it does seem like some of the play value was sacrificed for the concept.
3688 48 Ave. N.E. (access from 48 Ave.)
This playground does not seem to be particularly well used. It’s very isolated with no neighborhood access. I do know that it is accessed by day programs of adults with disabilities so it at least gets some use.
Parkdale/West Hillhurst – 5th Avenue and 27th St. NW.
Great playground for children of all ages. Quite big with a lot of variation in the equipment. Worth a 15 minute drive especially if you were going to meet someone. Excellent surface for early walkers or others unstable on their feet.
Parkdale – 3512 – 5th Ave. N.W. Calgary, AB.
Inside the Calgary Zoo near the tigers and southern entrance. (Admission to the Zoo is required).
Great playground for early walkers up to age 5. Not worth going to the zoo for by itself, but if you have a zoo pass or need a little free play around lunch time it is perfect.
