Nicky’s Review (9 years old): “I liked the bamboo forest and how they made stuff go up the hill”
Robbie’s Review (6 years old): “It’s good. I liked swinging in the double swing with my mom.”

Age Range: 2-12 years
Ground cover: pour-in-place recycled tire flooring

Features: tandem swing, hill features including a twisty slide and long roller slide. Bamboo stick forest climber, 2 swings (1 baby). Ping pong, ladder ball and tether ball.

Surrounding park area: This playground is build on a small park partially under the 4th avenue flyover road that goes into downtown. It is a short distance to the bow river pathway along memorial and the Bridgeland area.

Seating: there are a few benches and a ‘grassy’ area that would be good for picnics.

Overall Assessment

This playground looks really cool and the play value is really there too. Effort has been made to make this park appeal to people of many different ages. We saw lots of little kids there having fun with their families and adults playing with the ping pong and ladder ball.

This is a great new community space and I hope to see more unused spaces transformed in a similar way in the future.
