Located on the 2nd floor, Open Studio, is essentially the Creative Kids Museum for older kids. Kids can make build, create, explore and experiment. My kids are still a bit young to get the most out of this area (my oldest is 6) but they still find something interesting whenever we are there.
They have a lot of hands on creation stations. You can make a toy.
Create a dress.
Experiment with circuits.
They also have an area with challenges that change over the year. While we were their you were asked to create a place to camp.
You can also experiment with different fabrics in a wind tube.
Digitally paint with light and sound.
Play around with a sound machine.
Explore the relationship between inputs and outputs.
And much more. They have a number of stations where you can try out different forms of animation but my kids aren’t ready for that yet.
The workshop runs from 1-3pm. Kids can learn new skills and work with real tools. Recommended for ages 8 and up.
