Parking: limited parking. There is pay parking near Riley Park.
Nicky’s Review (3 years old): I liked the little slide.
Gordie’s Review (6 years old): I liked the big slides.
Robbie’s Review (4 months old): Enjoyed swinging on the saucer swing with his Daddy and laying on the Apollo spinner while someone gently spun it.
Surrounding Park Area: Next to a school, parking lot and grassy area.
Overall Assessment: Hillhurst school has two good playgrounds and is only a short walk from Riley Park. The parking can be a bit challenging but if you can find a spot to park, your kids will have a good time. Older kids will find lots of occupy them and younger kids will enjoy the saucer swings and Apollo spinner.
Playground 1
Age Range: 2 years-12 years
Ground Cover: pour-in-place recycled tire flooring
Shade: limited in the area right around the playground.
Features: two saucer swings, a climber with slides, steps, bowl spinner, standing spinner, wobbly balance beam, large Apollo spinner.
Accessibility: accessible flooring throughout. A car panel can be accessed from the ground. Saucer swings and Apollo spinner can be used by people who can transfer. Steps can be used to access the large climber.
Seating: a couple of benches and some logs.
Playground 2
Age Range: 2 years-12 years
Ground Cover: pea gravel
Shade: limited in the area right around the playground.
Features: Climber with gazebo, slides, bridge, flying fox, and ramp.
Accessibility: There is a ramp but you have to go over pea gravel to get to it.
Seating: A couple of benches.
