Gordie’s Review (17 months old) – Great stairs, awesome bridge!

Age Range: Proficient walker to 8.
Ground Cover: Pea gravel
Features: Preschool play structure with telescope and slide; School aged play structure with twisty slide, bridge, climbing wall and overhead spinners; 2 swings; 1 bug bouncer.

Surrounding Park Area: Some mostly flat green space to the South.
Shade:  At the time of this review there was not great shade but the landscaping hasn’t been finished.
Seating: None yet.
Stroller/wheelchair access: None.

Overall Assessment: This playground was built this year (2010) with help from the Foresters, Kaboom! organization,  Parks Foundation Calgary and City of Calgary Parks. This playground is so new the landscaping still isn’t finished. It looks like the new playground will be well used as there was a bunch of kids there in the short time we were there. The playground is not huge and isn’t worth driving too far but is a great addition to the neighborhood.

  1. This playground is practically at my backdoor and although it is a lovelybplayground I have taken my boys to others that are further more often because we are not fans of pea gravel playgrounds. My tot puts everything in his mouth so the pea gravel is a constant battle to keep the boys from eating and throwing it. Also I have found some very unpleasant things in and around this playground. There is no baby swing and now a broken play horse. I would love to a part of cleaning and any future plans for this playground. When I do go there I do try to pick up garbage. I rate this playground out of ten a 6 for the reasons I already stated.
