Community: Near Saddlebrook along the Eastern portion of the Greenway just South of Stoney Trail.
Parking: There is no parking for this playground, however there are two community access points. You can park by the Saddlebrook playground (on Saddlebrook Drive NE) and walk East along the bike path from there to the playground. Gordie’s Review (3.5 years old) – “what was the best part?” “being in the log”
Ground Cover: pea gravel
Features: Rock, log and bear shaped climbing equipment.
Surrounding Park Area: This playground is part of the East Calgary Greenway.
Shade: little to none. Young trees have been planted.
Seating: 2 benches and 3 picnic tables. There’s bench seating inside the big log.
Accessibility: There is a pathway up to the playground but there is not accessibility within the play area.
Overall Assessment: This is one of Calgary’s most unique playgrounds. It’s not the easiest playground to get to but its worth the short walk. This playground will provide a different kind of challenge for both big and little kids. Gordie loved playing ‘house’ in the big log and trying to move around from rock to rock without touching the ground. I highly recommend this playground – it was one of my favorites from this year.
