Things to do with kids in Calgary in the Fall

Looking for some things to do with kids in Calgary this fall?

Fall can be a tough time of year to find things to do with the kids in Calgary. All the hot weather activities are over but none of the snowy Winter activities have started yet.

If you are stuck for ideas, you have come to the right place. Here is a list of Calgary and area corn mazes, fun farms, pumpkin patches and harvest festivals that are sure to make for great fall memories this Fall.

1. Pumpkin Festival – Calgary Farmyard

Location: Calgary farmyard – 284022 Township Road 224, Rockyview, AB (South East of Calgary)
Dates:
Saturdays & Sundays in October.

Activities: 

Special Events for the Calgary Farmyard’s Pumpkin Festival

Regular Calgary Farmyard Attractions as well as:

  • Candy Pumpkin Explosion
  • Craft Stations
  • Pig races
  • Face painting
  • pony rides
  • Magic Show
  • Great spots for pumpkin related photo ops.

2. Granary Road’s Pumpkin Fest

Location: Granary Road – 226066 112th ST W
Cost: General admission costs apply
Dates: October 19&20, 2019

Special activities for Granary Road’s Pumpkin Fest:

  • Pumpkin hunts, pumpkin carving, hay wagon rides and more!

3. Heritage Park’s Harvest Sale

Location: 1900 Heritage Dr SW – Heritage Park
Cost: Regular Heritage Park admission or included with annual membership.
Dates: September 7&8

Activities:

Special Events for the Harvest Sale:

Regular Heritage Park attractions as well as

  • Harvest Sale with truckloads for fresh fruit and vegetables at historically low prices. Funds raised go to support local charities. Cash only.

4. Butterfield Acres Pumpkin Hunts

Location: 254077 Rocky Ridge Rd NW
Cost: Child and adult admission only slightly higher than regular admission. 
Dates:
Weekends in October. tickets go on sale Sept 1st. 
Times:
Pumpkin Hunt tickets available at specific times from 10:20-1:20. The Farmyard is open from 10am -4pm. If you have a later hunt is is recommended that you go to the farmyard before so you don’t miss out. 
Pumpkins:
Each child ticket includes 1 pumpkin.

Butterfield Acres Pumpkin Hunt Activities:

Regular Butterfield Acres Farmyard activities as well as

Butterfield Acres Pumpkin Hunt Activities:

  • Pumpkin hunt and Pumpkin decorating (est time 40-50 minutes)

5. Bowden SunMaze

Location: Eagle Creek Farms –  34530 Range Road #14, Bowden Alberta (North of Calgary)
Cost: Adults $9, Children (5-17) $6.50, 4 and under free.
Dates:
7 days a week for August and September

Activities:

  • Sunflower maze
  • Other mazes
  • Play Area
  • U-pick flowers and vegetables (additional cost)

 6. Cobb’s Corn Maze – Pumpkin Palooza and Field of Screams

Location: 1500 84 St NE  Calgary
Cost: Regular admission required.
Dates: 
Saturdays and Sundays in October and Thanksgiving Monday

Regular Cobb’s Adventure Park activities as well as:

Field of Screams – (Friday and Saturday evenings in October) – all ages, 4 haunted houses, and cornfield maze cemetery. Rides, activities, food and drinks and more.

Pumpkin Palooza – (Saturday and Sunday Evenings in October & holiday Monday) Find the perfect pumpkin big or small. Plus regular attractions and pumpkin and Princess photo ops.

7. Enjoy Halloweekends at Calaway Park


Date: Weekends September 7th – October 14th, 2019
Halloweekend Activities Halloween themed amusement park fun.
Cost:  Included with regular admission and annual passes.
