Overall assessment: This playground is a great new addition to Shouldice Park. The playground is very inclusive with lots of accessible features. Small kids will love the ease of getting around due to the pour-in-place recycled tire flooring and the ramp system.
Older kids will love the large rope-y structure. And everyone will enjoy some of the unique features, including a rollerslide, double-swing where you can swing facing a partner, big globe spinner and musical features.
Ramp System
The ramp system at this playground is extensive. The ramps are wide and there are things to do and places to go. There are also sun shades but they weren’t up when we went in April.
Gound level features
There are numerous ground level features that can be accessed by everyone. There are photo ops you can stick your head through, musical features and things to touch and other activity panels.
There is a little counter for pretend play.
And some other cool features like a fun mirror and these kaleidoscopes.
Swing, Spin and Bounce
This playground has tons of options for swinging, spinning and bouncing. In addition to two baby swings and two traditional swings, there is a saucer, swing, two accessible swings and an expression swing (where two people can swing facing each other providing all kinds of swinging options.
Saucer swings are very versatile and can be used by groups of kids, kids who need support while swinging and some kids even like to stand on them while swinging.
This large spinner can be used by a large number of kids with back rests for kids who need a little extra physical support.
Monkey Bars and More
The park has several types of monkey bars, as well as other cool climbing equipment that will provide a challenge for older kids.
Close to other amenities
This playground is located in a really great park. It is right near the river with multiple picnic spots, some of which you can book.
It is close to a washroom and attached to a pathway system and the Shouldice Aquatic Centre.
This playground should be on your summer bucket list for sure!

We’ve enjoyed Shouldice park on several occasions but would caution that the metal ramps can be very icy/slippery in cold/wet weather!
Shouldice has been great for us – I love the all inclusive playground concept. It even just makes it easier for littles who aren’t as advanced as older kids. There’s a nice path by the park but it is closeish to the river.
