Gordie’s Review (3 years old): “What was the best part of the park?” “the hole in the floor!” (there’s a ‘hidden’ ladder on the climber in the middle of the floor)

Age Range: 2-10 years.
Ground Cover: pour-in-place recycled tire flooring

Shade: There are some mature trees near the playground
Features: school-aged climber with bridge, climbing wall, twisty slide; large merry-go-round spinner; 3 saucer swings; large merry-go-round spinner; 2 bouncy balance beams, really tall spinner; musical array; large web climber;

Surrounding Park Area: Two schools (review of Monsignor Neville Anderson School Playground) community centre, outdoor rink, soccer and baseball fields, tennis

Accessibility: There is accessible flooring throughout. The musical array is at the ground level. The saucer swings and merry-go-round spinner could be used by someone who was able to transfer.
Seating: 2 picnic tables and a few benches

Overall assessment: This playground is excellent. There’s great shade, seating and a huge variety of equipment. Little kids will love being able to easily run around on the smooth flooring and bigger kids will enjoy being able to challenge themselves.

Gordie had a great time here and would have stayed way longer if we hadn’t had to get him to bed. He really loved the ‘hidden’ ladder in the floor of the climber. I’d recommend this playground to anyone particularly those trying to please kids of a wide variety of ages.

  1. Thank you for this blog I didn’t realize how lucky we are to have all this information that you published. We are travelling to Edmonton and can’t find anything useful for playgrounds there, I understand the frustration you must have felt before you started this blog.
