St. Andrew School Playground

The playground at St. Andrew School has some cool features including a zipline and an accessible zipline!

Nicky’s Review (9 years old): “I liked the rock and everything else.”

Age Range: 5-12.  
Ground cover: pea gravel

Features: double zipline (one accessible), 4 swings, climber with steps, slides and overhead features, seated spinner with back support, large climbing “boulder”.

Surrounding park area: school fields, Glamorgan Community Association, Glamorgan School, outdoor arena
Accessibility: The pea gravel impacts access to the play area. There is an accessible zipline and a seated spinner with back support but you have to go through pea gravel to access them. The climber has steps for easier access.

Shade: limited
Seating: a couple of benches

Overall Assessment

It is too bad this playground doesn’t have accessible flooring instead of pea gravel, as it would then be a great inclusive playground.

As it is, it is still really great. It has one of only two accessible ziplines in Calgary right now as well as some fun and challenging climbing equipment.

It’s also just a quick walk across the field to Glamorgan School Playground if you like playground hopping.
