There are tons of great places in Calgary to go for a walk with a stroller. Here are some of our picks and some walks suggested by other Calgary parents.
Great Calgary Stroller Walks
Calgary has so many great parks and many of them are perfect for taking a stroller along with you. As an added bonus, most of the suggestions on this list have washrooms available.
Fish Creek Park - Fish Creek Provincial Park
There are lots of great walks in Fish Creek Park (it is a huge area!). A particular favourite is the Bow Valley Ranche area.
Confederation Park
Confederation Park has gentle hills with little bridges, a great playground and a duck pond.
St. Patrick's Island Park
St. Patrick's Island is a lovely park with a playground, natural areas, and a river wading area. You can also walk over to the East Village Area.
Bowness Park
Bowness Park is fairly flat with lots to see. It has a lagoon, river access, a great playground and in the summer months it has a miniature ride on train and a wading pool.
Exploring Nose Hill Park with kids
Nose Hill Park is a huge natural park. The best access point for strollers is at the Edgemont entrance.
South Glenmore Park
South Glenmore Park has lovely walking paths, a great playground and spray park and views of the Glenmore Reservoir where you can often see sailboats and kayaks.
Prince’s Island Park–Eau Claire Plaza
Prince's Island is one of Calgary's most popular parks. Located downtown, you can't park at the park itself but will need to walk over. It is also walking distance to the Eau Claire area.
Inglewood Bird Sanctuary
Another great nature park, at the Inglewood Bird Sanctuary you can see a lot of different birds and maybe even some other animals like deer.
Pearce Estate Park and Playground
Peace Estate Park is located is a great place for a walk through some wetlands. You can also stop in at the Bow Habitat Station/Fish Hatchery.
Ralph Klein Park
Ralph Klein Park has extensive pathways through a wetland area. Ensure you have some shade for little ones if you are going on a hot day.
