Playgrounds with Ziplines

Ziplines are making a comeback in Calgary.  Ziplines are a little different from the similar, more common ‘gliders’ – ziplines have a rope that hangs down that you can either sit or stand on. Here’s a list of the ones I’ve found so far.

1. Carrington Playground

Carrington – Symons Valley Parkway & 14 St NW

The zipline is just one of the awesome features at this playground at the North end of the city.

2. Prairie Winds Park North Playground

Westwinds/Castleridge – 233 Castleridge Blvd. NE.

There are two long wire ziplines at this popular NE park. This is a hugely popular regional park so expect the ziplines to usually have lineups. That being said, your kids will probably think it’s worth the wait.

3. Riverstone Zipline Playground

Cranston’s Riverstone – Cranbrook Hill and Cranbrook Way SE

This zipline at this small park is longer than most of this style.

4. Legacy Parade Playground

Legacy – Legacy Parade and Legacy Row SE

Cute little park that even bigger kids will like because of the zipline!

5. Walden Grove Playground

Walden – Walgrove Blvd and Walgrove Gardens SE

Great park for a wide variety of ages including a zipline and great shade.

6. Ralph Klein Park Playground

12350 84 St SE

This park has a brand new playground (July 2018) that includes a long wire zipline.

7. North Glenmore Playground

52nd Avenue and 21st St. SW. (next to Lord Shaughnessy School)

This playground includes a lot of natural playground features and a wire zipline.

8. Springbank Hill Community Park

Springbank Hill – 7541 26 Ave SW (limited street parking)

This park is primarily a community meeting space and natural area rather than a playground, but it does have a zipline!

9. Livingston West Park Playground

Livingston – Livingston – Lucas Crescent and Lucas Parade NW

This playground was designed to be accessible to kids with hearing or vision impairments and also includes a fun zipline.

10. Thorncliffe Greenview Community Centre Playground

5600 Centre St N
This inclusive playground has a lot of fun features including a double zipline – one which has an accessible seat with back support and a harness.

11. Elliston Park Inclusive Playground

1827 68 St. S.E. (south of 17th ave between 60th and 68th)
Elliston Park has an accessible zipline – it has a seat with a harness and back support.

12. St. Andrew School Playground

Glamorgan – 4331 41 Ave SW
St. Andrew School has a double zipline. One has an accessible seat, however you do have to walk through pea gravel to get to it.

13. North Glenmore Park Inclusive Playground

7305 24 St. SW
North Glenmore Park has a double zipline. One has an accessible seat with a harness and back support.
