Confederation Park
Confederation Park has lovely walking paths including little bridges and a duck pond. On the East side of the park there is a fantastic playground with shade and a swinging park bench. It's also a great place for a gentle bike ride.
Heritage Park
Although there is a fair amount of walking required, everyone in the family will enjoy a visit to Heritage Park. There are tons for the kids to do and lots to see and learn for grown-ups. Grandparents can help make the past come alive with their own memories of their childhood.
Calgary Corn Maze and Fun Farm Review
There is tons of fun to be had for all ages at the Calgary Corn Maze. Try to find your way out of the corn maze, play mini golf, visit the animals and more!
The Calgary Zoo
A popular choice for multi-generational outings, the Calgary Zoo can be enjoyed by everyone. Wheelchair and power chair rentals are also available.
Bowness Park
This is one of Calgary's most popular parks for a reason. Not only is it a great place for a picnic and a walk, in the summer, you can rent paddleboats, ride on the miniature train and wade in the shady wading pool. It's a great place to connect and make some memories.
The Calgary Tower
Get some great views of the city from the top of the tower. If you make a reservation at the Sky360 restaurant, your trip to the top is included. Spend some time looking at the city from a new perspective, and stand on the glass floor.
Telus Spark
There are tons of interactive elements at Telus Spark that grandparents and kids can enjoy exploring together. The walking required is less than most of Calgary's other major attractions which can be a plus. But note, drinks (like coffee) are not allowed in the galleries including the Creative Kids Museum.
Ralph Klein Park
Go for walks to explore the Wetlands, stop inside the Environmental Education Building and spend some time at the natural playground.

Glenbow Museum
The Glenbow is a surprisingly good place to take the kids with lots of great exhibits to explore for the whole family.
They also have a couple of wheelchairs available to borrow.
Granary Road Active Learning Park
If the grandparents are finished exploring the different learning park activities before the kids, they can go inside and have a drink or explore the market.
Nellie Breen Park Playground
Nellie Breen Park is a smaller park, with lovely shade and places to sit while the kids play.
Studio Bell - Canada's National Music Centre's Museum
For grandparents who grew up in Canada, Studio Bell will be a trip down memory lane. The kids will enjoy trying out some instruments and exploring music at the Sound Box.
Butterfield Acres Petting Zoo
At Butterfield Acres, you can get up close to many different kinds of animals.
Fort Calgary Interpretive Centre
Fort Calgary is easy to get around and includes engaging displays for young and old.
Devonian Gardens and Playground
Just being downtown can be exciting for kids, and the Devonian Gardens can be a great destination even if the weather isn't great. It's right by the Core's food court so you can have a coffee, stop for lunch or pack a picnic.
Bow Habitat Station - Fish Hatchery
A surprisingly engaging museum, you can see the aquariums, explore the museum, feed the fish and walk through the weltands outside at Pearce Estate Park.
St. Patrick's Island Park
One of Calgary's newest parks has quickly become a Calgary favourite. Pathways to explore, a river wading area, wetlands and a great playground.

If you are looking for a free place to go, the libraries are a great option, particularly for young kids.
