In no particular order, these playgrounds represent some of the best from around the city. Some of the playgrounds have been on the list before but most of them are new this year.

Shouldice Park – 4900 Monserrat Dr. N.W.
One of the most inclusive playgrounds in the city will be a hit with kids of all ages and abilities. This playground is located in a lovely park and includes musical features, tons of options for spinning, swinging and bouncing, a huge ramp system and interesting climbers.
Ralph Klein Park – 12350 84 St. S.E. (near Stony Trail and 114 St SE)
The unusual mountain inspired climber, large log jam, sand pit and zipline make this playground a winner.
Off Belmont Drive SE (South of 22X, West of Macleod Trail/Highway 2A)
The colourful little hills are both fun and eye catching. The equipment is unusual and full of playfulness.
North Glenmore – 53 ave SW and 21 St SW
This natural playground includes rocks and logs to hop across, a hill slide and a zipline.
Carrington – Symons Valley Parkway & 14 St NW
This playground features accessible flooring, challenging equipment, a roller slide and a zipline.
Erin Woods – 25 Erin Park Dr SE
This colourful school playground is huge and features a multi-level ramp system with younger kids will love. Older kids will love this playground for playing tag or grounders.
Walden – Walgrove Blvd and Walgrove Gardens SE
This new playground has a lovely setting surrounded by large mature trees. The playground itself is also great and features a zipline.
Inglewood – 9 Avenue and 14 Street S.E.
This natural playground takes design inspiration from old ranch properties. Kids can interact with natural materials and get a different experience from traditional playgrounds. This playground includes a log jam, loose materials and a sandpit.
Saddle Ridge – 368 Saddlecrest Blvd NE
This new school playground has challenging equipment for school-aged kids, accessible flooring and a roller slide.
Currie Barracks – 2953 Battleford Ave SW
The airplane theme is really attractive, the flooring is accessible and the control tower slide is really tall. One of the best themed playgrounds in the city.
Midnapore – 55 Midpark Rise SE
This playground cover a wide age range from little kids who will love the ramps, to older kids who can play on the skate park right nearby. The playground has some cool features including a rocket ship climber.
Brentwood – 3023 Blakiston Dr NW
This playground is located in a lovely little park with nearby picnic tables and mature trees. There is a preschool area with musical features and just across the pathway another area with more challenging climbing equipment.
Tuscany – 357 Tuscany Dr NW
The equipment at this playground is really unusual for a school playground. It includes accessible flooring a multi-kid spinner, a roller slide and an awesome web climber.
Westwinds/Castleridge – 233 Castleridge Blvd. NE.
Prairie Winds has two fantastic playgrounds. The nature-inspired north playground and an accessible south playground. They are both great playgrounds and only a short walk apart. Prairie Winds Park also has a free wading pool and spray park in the summer months.
East Village Playground – East Village – 7 Ave and 6 St SE
St. Patrick’s Island Playground – 1300 Zoo Rd. NE
These playgrounds are actually found in two separate parks, but they are a walkable distance (or short bike ride) apart. They are both great playgrounds so I have included them both this year. Both playgrounds are nature-inspired and include unusual equipment.
